What is the Relationship Between Creativity & Knowledge

Prior to me watching the videos in the assigned reading, my understanding of creativity and knowledge is something you acquire as you grow older. To further explain, creativity is something we are all born with; however we need to tap into this creative side to us and nurture it, then it will evolve. Through learning skills and understanding fundamentals we can apply this to our creativity and the more we learn the more our creativity grows. That is where knowledge aids in the creativity of development.

After watching the videos, I believe we as artists have huge responsibility and the power. We are able to portray our creative thinking and show the world the issues we face through our expressive art. We have to be careful and make sure we don't portray the wrong message through our creative outlets, whether it be through a drawing, an ad campaign, a social media post, a gallery exhibition, ect. Especially if we are trying to state a current political view. We as artists need to be held responsible for what we create and in order to do so we should understand the facts behind what it is we are portraying through our art. This is the relationship between Creativity and knowledge. Men & Women create to spread a message or create to bring awareness. These concepts heavily weigh on facts and without having the proper knowledge of where to get these facts, you will not be able to create the message. Now the creative part comes in on how you would like to portray the message. Whether it is through emotions, feeling, visual interest, political opinion, ect.
