Craft is a specialized skill you may acquire. For example, the craft that I enjoy taking part in consists of quilting, creating henna tattoos, painting, journaling, cooking and scrapbooking. Each of these I have realized as I become more of a seasoned artist, my craft is becoming more and more precise and detailed with a cleaner look. Craft is a skill that does get better as time goes by and the more effort you put into it the more improvements you will see. It is always good to keep a goal when crafting. A point to which you would like your artwork or design to eventually look like. Once you have reached that goal and you are happy with your outcome of how your craft looks, you then set a new goal to reach. There is no end to perfecting your craft. It only evolves and takes a new turn. Creating something new and fresh. That is the beauty of craft. There are endless visions and creativity outlets that you can use in your specific choice of craft. For example, I mentioned a quilt. There is always new fabric to work with and new patterns to create. A quilt will never be identical because every stitch might be sewed in a different location. This changes your end results to how your craft will turn out. Personally I dont ever like to create the same thing when I'm crafting. That is the style of artist I am. I choose to make each thing I craft unique and different from the previous thing I created. Design ideas are endless and I love that. You can never go board crafting. There is always something new to create. Another great example is cooking. I never like to measure when cooking so every dish always tastes different.. I like to see what the outcome is when something is done differently. I grow as an artist.
Craft is a skill that over time becomes effortless. Once you have your area of craft expertise down then your work flows effortlessly. Some time you can get frustrated in the process but that is only expanding your creativity.
